The Not-so-spiritual Aspects of Christian Singlehood

The idea of being single in a Christian community can be so burdensome in its way at times.

The Not-so-spiritual Aspects of Christian Singlehood

In such a community where marriage is often the ultimate goal, it can even quickly become an avenue for intimidation.

There is also the isolation regularly felt by those in this category, it can be overwhelmingly depressing. It takes more than just a righteous heart to stomach it all.

Being single often gives you a lot of time for self-reflection and development. This is one thing many people can seem to give up.

. This is one thing many people can seem to give up.

The independence of being your own boss and owning your decisions without considering the opinions of anyone else, oh that feeling! It’s exhilarating.

You can go a million miles per hour and not stifle a sweat once.

Sometimes, these single ones may become the envy of many freshly married couples who are still working their way around living together.

There is beauty is in everything, when we look for it, and not write it off as an incomplete situation that cannot be taken advantage of.

Singlehood for a Christian is a time for self-love and appreciation.

We can often notice how singles tend to be more socially outgoing and presentable in terms of appearance and dressing.

Most married couples rarely have any time for that anymore. It’s one constant roller coaster that revolves around your family constantly.

Singlehood, quite sadly, has also come to be associated with lose behavior and promiscuity, even in Christendom, right within the confines of the church.

But a healthy population will still agree with me that Christian singles can still find sustenance in their isolation and do good work, like being single never even mattered at all.

If you ask me, it’s all a matter of decision and choice of self-discipline. There’s probably a reason why you haven’t yet tied the knot, whether personal or not, it is an opportunity to grab the reins of individuality and master it before moving unto married life.

There’s no jumping that phase in life, it is a necessary milestone that must be crossed by every individual if we are to understand the true meaning of companionship.
